Our Philosophy
Believing in our story, connection, play, community engagement, culture, reflective practice, and lifelong learning.
Building Connections Through Play
We believe in the longevity and commitment of our team, fostering relationships with children and families. Our centre is a hub for community engagement, celebrating culture and promoting lifelong learning.
Building Strong Relationships Through Play
Embracing Culture and Lifelong Learning
At our centre, we value connection, play, and reflective practice. Our team is dedicated to creating a welcoming community that supports growth and celebrates diversity.
Our Values
A place where longevity and commitment define who we are.
We believe in our story
Our little centre on the hill is unique! A place where the longevity and commitment of our team makes us who we are. We have established a beautiful centre community, building reciprocal relationships within our team alongside children, and their families which spans across generations.
We believe in connection
We value our partnerships with children and families, building on connections that are respectful, trusting, and true. We are dedicated to providing early education in a happy, secure, supportive environment. All relationships, individuality, learning and development are celebrated.
We believe in play
Our children play, they inquire, investigate and they explore. Through the use of various mediums, children learn to be skilful with their bodies, explore new interests, take risks, solve problems and accept challenges. We are play partners with the children!
We believe in the framework’s ethos of viewing the child as a whole. We encourage the child’s growth in Being, Belonging and Becoming. Each child’s individual development is fostered and celebrated for who they are and how they learn.
Through play, our children persist, building resilience as they develop skills for life. We nurture a respect for diversity, whilst supporting fairness and equity.
We celebrate culture & community
We believe in the relationships that we form and nurture within our centre with the children and families. We foster a sense of community inside and outside of our gates. This includes building a greater understanding of Australian culture, in particular paying respect to our Traditional Custodians on whose land we learn and play.
Our community is very important to us and along with them we are striving for a sustainable future for our children and to create a generation of humans who understand how to nurture and care for their world.
We discover and value the similarities and differences amongst people in our world. We endeavour to include each family’s culture and incorporate it into our daily play, menus and centre celebrations.
We believe in reflective practice
We critique and review our practices through deep discussions. Our Educators reflect on their own traditions and pedagogies, challenging their thinking as they build on their skills and professional engagement.
We are dedicated to valuing lifelong learning!
We build the confidence of our team and create a mentally healthy environment. Through continuous education and training, we ensure our team achieve as individuals, consolidating their knowledge and skills.
By providing continuity of carers in a loving and safe environment, we assure child well-being is prioritised and encourage the development of a strong, positive relationship between children and educators.
More than just an education...
We make learning FUN!
We believe in the benefits of PLAY!
We are committed to providing a program which caters for each child’s individual interests, strengths and needs. Our educational program is delivered through an intentional, play-based pedagogy aligned to the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF). Our program continues to develop as we use the relationships children have with their families and communities. We work in partnership with our families to engage their children in learning, and to allow each families knowledge, ideas and culture to shine through.
We encourage children to self aware and hope to establish a sense of lifelong learning for our little people. We use conversations, connections and play as the basis for teaching which involves the children being partners in teaching by seeking out ideas, opinions, thoughts and questions. We support our children to be researchers! We value that each of the children are here with varied learning and play needs, so we foster their strengths to allow for this individuality in their program. We work hard to build a string connection with our family community, which allows us to gather a comprehensive and holistic view of each child.
We know that children learn effectively through play and educators who are diligent in their responsiveness to each child support this ethos. Applying strong intentional teaching practices provide the children with an authentic and meaningful learning environment that challenges, supports and nurtures a child’s development.
